Why we built it

Talk to any plumber or sparky running a five-to-fifteen-person firm and you’ll hear the same story: they tried simPRO and gave up after a fortnight, they tried Joblogic and couldn’t get their engineers to use it, they tried BigChange and now they’re locked into a five-year contract paying seven hundred quid a month for software that’s never quite worked.

The incumbents got fat selling to firms with full-time office staff who could learn complicated systems. The actual people running these businesses are tradespeople. They want jobs scheduled, engineers dispatched, customers messaged, and invoices sent. Nothing more.

Boshed does exactly that. It’s modern, fast, and the same monthly fee whether you’re a one-man-band or a fifteen-strong outfit at the top of the tier.

Who it’s for

UK trades firms with 5 to 25 staff — plumbers, gas engineers, sparkies, heating and air-con outfits, roofers. The owner is on the tools, in the office, or both. They want software that doesn’t get in the way.

Who it’s not for

Single-person side-hustles. Tradify is cheaper and aimed squarely at you.

Hundred-plus-staff multi-branch outfits. You probably need bespoke implementations and a dedicated software admin. That’s BigChange territory.

What we won’t do

We won’t try to be a lead-generation marketplace. We’re not going to take a cut of your jobs. You own your customers; we just make running them easier.

We won’t put you on a long contract. Month-to-month, rolling. Cancel any time. Your data exports as a CSV in one click.

We won’t have salespeople. If you want help, you talk to whoever built it.

Where we are now

Boshed is in early days. The core is live: signup, customer list, jobs with status tracking, a drag-and-drop schedule, branded customer messages. The mobile engineer app, photos, signatures, and invoicing are next. If you sign up while we’re still building, you get founder pricing and you get to tell us what to fix.
